Olirum Erodu Foundation (OEF) is a not-for-profit public welfare trust established for the development of Erode city and district. Our foundation was founded in June 2014 by 30 industrialists and entrepreneurs (Registration No: 4/99/2014). Currently, the Foundation comprises the leadership of 93 leading industries and business organizations based in Erode, working collaboratively.
The primary vision of the Foundation is to transform Erode district and surrounding areas into a region rich in water resources, greenery, fertile land, and excellent public sanitation. It also aims to shape the youth and students into well-rounded individuals who excel in education and sports, while promoting their mental and physical well-being. The Foundation aspires to create a model living environment that is ideal for both work and life, in collaboration with the government through various effective initiatives.
OEF is widely recognized as the first volunteer organization in Tamil Nadu where industrial and business leaders have come together to carry out public welfare activities with their own funds. Over the past eleven years, the Foundation has successfully implemented numerous development initiatives in the following sectors, funded by generous contributions from our trustees:
• Water Management: 59 projects – ₹6 Crores
• Welfare and Healthcare: 29 projects – ₹17 Crores
• Education and Sports: 30 projects – ₹3 Crores
• Infrastructure: 31 projects – ₹4.5 Crores
• Environment: 19 projects – ₹5.2 Crores
Our goals include transforming Erode known as the “Turmeric District” into a green city full of trees and parks, providing quality education, sports and health facilities for underprivileged students, managing solid, liquid, and electronic waste, improving traffic systems and water management. These efforts are all carried out with the approval and support of the district administration, municipal corporation, municipalities, and local bodies.

Trustee Contributions & Financial Model:

For contributing to the development of Erode, every trustee of OEF provides an initial donation of ₹5 Lakhs and then contributes ₹2 Lakhs annually as a voluntary commitment. In addition, the Foundation also receives CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds from some member institutions. OEF does not collect any donations from the general public. Over the last 11 years, the Foundation has successfully completed 228 development projects in Erode district, utilizing a total of approximately ₹46 Crores, making Erode a role model district for others.
Legal Status & Recognition:

OEF is recognized under Section 12AA of the Indian Income Tax Act, making it eligible for tax exemption. Donations made to OEF are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The Foundation is also registered and approved to receive CSR contributions (Registration No: CSR00004428) and holds a valid license under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) 2010, Section 11(1) to receive foreign donations (FCRA Reg. No: 076060086).
